Paw & Nail Care

Regular nail trims are an important part of keeping your dog comfortable and healthy. When nails grow too long, they can affect how a dog stands and walks, putting extra pressure on their paws and joints.

Inside each nail is a sensitive area called the quick. If nails are left to grow too long, the quick grows with them, making it harder to safely trim the nails shorter. Regular trimming helps keep the quick at a healthy length.

For dogs with longer nails, trims may be recommended every 2 weeks to gradually shorten the quick. Once the nails are maintained at a healthy length, most dogs benefit from trims every 3–4 weeks.

Keeping up with regular nail care helps prevent discomfort, splitting, snagging, and supports healthy movement.

We welcome call-ahead and same day nail trim appoinments whenever possible, and are always happy to take your call to help keep your pup's paws in great shape.
